Continental Airline Tickets

Has anyone recieved free airfare for applying to a MasterCard from US AIRWAYS?

On a returning flight from Cancun, the flight captain made an annoucement that if we would apply for the US Airways Mastercard and got accepted that we would recieve free airfare. Did anyone else get the free airfare?
