How do temperature and humidity change when a maritime tropical air mass is replaced by a continental polar air mass? Couldn't find answer anywhere else.

  1. Think about temperature first. Is polar air likely to be warmer or colder than tropical air? Then think about the humidity. Is air over the ocean (maritime air) likely to be more or less humid than air over land (continental air)? Now think about the question. You are replacing tropical air with polar air and maritime air with continental air so, from your answers to the questions I asked, what would you expect would happen to the temperature and humidity?
  2. Maritime is when it is humid and warm-- it comes from the oceans. A continental polar is when it is dry but very cold-- that comes from the land not ocean Hope that helps :))
