Continental Airline Tickets

American or Continental Flights?

I will be flying to Thailand on August 31st until September 7th, but I have a problem selecting a flight package. I am a frequent flyer with Continental Airlines, but for this travel purpose I'm not sure if I should fly Continental or American Airlines. Option A: American Airlines Depart: 1:20am Aug 31st Arrive: 10:45am Sept 1st Cost: $1572 Option B: Continental Airlines: Depart: 12:30pm Arrive: 10:50pm Sept 1st Cost: $1560 Should I select Option A, and spend an extra day exploring the city therefore foregoing the miles I could've redeem to reach Silver Elite Status with Continental. Or should I select Option B, and lose a day but redeeming the mileage to reach Silver Elite Status? Please also consider the time needed to recover from jet lag. Thanks so much!

  1. I would do with a...only $12 more
  2. The AA flight is a much better flight as far as flight and arrival times, but reaching elite status on Continental is something nice to have. If you plan on flying a lot with Continental in the next year, I would go with Continental. If not, then what good is elite status if you don't take advantage of it?
