Continental Airline Tickets

Is there anyway to get my money back from US Airways?

I tried doing the right thing and planning ahead for my trip, so I bought my plane tickets in Feb for $350 - Now the same flights, same tickets, are going for $210 and I'm pretty fucking pissed. I've been told that I basically just got f**ked by US Airways, but I'm wondering if there might just be a possibility of getting the difference I paid back?? Any help would be appreciated.

  1. Basically not, All discounts or cut price deals depend on who is offering them, back in Feb, there may have been high demand for this flight, but now that demand has reduced, cheaper tickets have been released. Sorry but that's life!
  2. Sorry, but you are going to have to suck it up. I would say you did the right thing by purchasing the tickets in advance even if it did come back to bite you in the end.
  3. Why would they give you money back. Prices go up and down all the time. If you paid $210 and now the ticket was $350 would you expect them to make you the extra $140. I think not.
  4. No
  5. There is nothing you can do about that, unfortunately... I've been in the same boat before. If you buy too early, you’ll pay too much. However, if you wait too long, you’ll also pay too much. I’ve been on both sides of this, myself. I’ve bought too early and also bought too late. My strategy is this: Start looking at flights around 6 months before you want to travel. That will give you an idea of what a typical flight costs. Around 3 months before your trip, start checking daily. If you see the price go below the normal price you saw earlier, buy the tickets.
  6. Buying airline tickets is a gamble with money, and you also risk not being able to find a flight for the day you need it if you wait too late to get a good price.
  7. No, you didn't get ****** by US Air. You made your best guess, so did they. Frankly, I'd be wildly surprised if the same itinerary you paid $350 for were actually available now for $210 - it simply doesn't make sense considering, and other things, that oil prices have gone up. If it is in fact true that the price is lower now, you can certainly ask for a refund. You probably won't get it but you can ask - and they are more likely to give you some token to make you feel better, like extra frequent flyer miles or a fifty buck voucher for future flights, than a direct any direct refund.
