Continental Airline Tickets

When will I know what terminal to fly from?

Hi, I just booked flights to the US with United Airlines. I went to the US earlier this year with Virgin Atlantic and was immediately informed when booking those tickets which terminals I would need to be at. However, with all my United flights (six of them including connections!), there are no terminals listed at all on either my e-ticket, the reservations pages on United & Continental, or when I was choosing which flight to take. Do I find these out later, or do I guess incorrectly on the day and miss my flights? Thanks!

  1. United flights usually operate from just one terminal (In London it's terminal 3, in Houston it's terminal C). When you get to the airport, follow the signs that say "united"
  2. If you happen to be flying from London Heathrow with United Airlines then your flight will depart from Terminal 1. http://www.heathrowairport.com/portal/site/heathrow/template.PAGE/menuitem.d139de547b27f58ee4b12871120103a0/?javax.portlet.tpst=09717e7844be297191de920eaca12635&javax.portlet.prp_09717e7844be297191de920eaca12635_form.validation.flag.err.msgs=Invalid%20Airport&javax.portlet.prp_09717e7844be297191de920eaca12635_destination=all&javax.portlet.prp_09717e7844be297191de920eaca12635_airline=united%20airlines&javax.portlet.prp_09717e7844be297191de920eaca12635_form.validation.flag=false&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken
  3. You can check in and print your United boarding passes at home 24 hours or less before the flight is scheduled to depart. This will contain the relevant terminal info (as well as the gate number.) http://www.united.com/page/middlepage/0,6998,52100,00.html?jumpLink=%2Fitinerariesandcheckin
  4. You can look up which terminal united is using for international flights by going to your departing airport's website. Every major airport will list which airlines are in which terminals. You can also go to the flight status tab on united.com on the day of your flight (like before you leave for the airport) enter your flight number and it should tell you which terminal it is at. The gate number/terminal is normally on the boarding pass, not the ticket. You will get the boarding pass when you check in at the airport or do it online (within 24 hrs of your flight) and yeah, if you are flying out of Heathrow on United, you will be at terminal 1
