Does it cost if you switch from continental airlines to southwest airlines ?

Does it cost if you switch from continental airlines to southwest airlines when you already have a flight booked on continental ?

1. You cannot "switch" from one to the other as they are separate airlines. You will need to buy a new ticket for Southwest.
