Continental Airline Tickets

Southwest Airlines or ASA (United Express)?

I have been a flight attendant for 3 years but left 1 year ago because of family. Now, I am ready to get my wings back. I had an offer from Atlantic Southwest Airlines/ASA servicing United Express and the training starts next week for flight attendant position for ERJ-145 aircraft (1 FA on board) But then, I had an offer from Southwest a few days ago for a ground position at the airport. Now, I am confused which one to get. I love to fly again but I'm sure I can also do that in Southwest since I can transfer internally. And a lot of people say that Southwest is a great company to work for and they treats their employees very well, and of course, great benefits too. With ASA, all they have is contract with United and Continental but they are considered as "the super regional" since Expressjet and ASA is merging. I'm torn in between.I need to decide within the week. Any opinions is appreciated, thanks!

  1. Go with your instincts. Asking perfect strangers to help you decide your future is completely beyond my ability to comprehend but go with the company that treats their employees very well. Or follow your gut or intuition or flip a coin but I love Southwest and I think you have more opportunities with them. :)
  2. Stay away from regionals by all means - Regionals or North Korean Airlines about same - With a regional, you do not know if you will have a job 2 years from now - SWA is 10 times better - Great airline - I often flew them as passenger - All SWA employees (aircrews and ground) are happy people -
  3. southwest remember they also merging with airtrain
  4. I would prefer Southwest. They treat their employees better and morale is relatively high. Regionals are not as great anymore. My mom used to work at Comair, a regional carrier for Delta. Airline was doing well but then got bought out by Delta. Service has dropped a lot and complaints have gone up.
