Do you see US Airways or Continental airlines going out of business?
Do you think US Airways or Continental Airlines will go bankrupt in the next few months or are they considered a major U.S. airline?

- They are both larger airlines. There are conversations that United may merge with one of the two you've listed. Checkout www.flyertalk.com
- Continental has being doing very well since the last time they went out of bankruptcy. I don't expect them to go out of business anytime soon. US Airways is doing ok. I too don't expect them to go out of business anytime soon.
- I do not see either of them going bankrupt soon. Continental is in talks to merge with United and US Airways just bought out America West. US Airways emerged from bankruptcy so they should be fine. Continental has a strong international route structure and that is where the airlines are making money. The domestic flights do not earn the airlines as much money as the international flights. Therefore I see Continental in better financial shape than many other airlines. Yes, both US Airways and Continental are considered major or legacy carriers.
- Both are in "talks" with other carriers about merging with another company. Depending on how things work out with the Delta/Northwest thing getting approved more will follow suit.
