Continental Airline Tickets - How much carry-on luggage can I take on a US Airways flight?

How much carry-on luggage can I take on a US Airways flight?

I checked their website and it said that I am allowed one carry-on item, however I've been on many other flights before and was always allowed to take a carry-on item and an additional personal item like a purse with me. Is US Airways really more strict or is it just a misrepresentation of information on their website. If anyone knows the specifics or has experience flying with US Airways please let me know. Thanks.

Last year I flew with US Airways and they only allowed me to carry-on one bag, no other purse or personal item.
In addition to one carry-on bag, customers may bring one personal item, which includes a purse, briefcase, laptop or diaper bag. US Airways permits carry-on baggage of up to 51 inches (11x14x26). US Airways Express flights accommodate carry-on baggage of up to 45 inches (19x15x11). You must check all larger baggage.
Trust me I fly monthly. I fly to my dads anyways. You can have 2 bags then 1 other one like a purse or something. and i would know casue i just flew like 2 weeks ago.
