How do I sue US Airways?
I had an unfortunate incident with flying US Airways where they canceled my flight due to electrical issues on the plane and did not put me on another flight. In turn, I missed my National Boards exam which cost $625 and US Airways refuses to reimburse me for the amount. I am going to take this further legally but I do not know the first thing about suing companies. Any advice?? What are the first steps and how do I find a lawyer that can work this kind of case???

- You can sue anyone you want. With so many flight cancellations recently there wont be open seats. You are on a waiting list with millions of other people with only thousands of open seats.
- I have a feeling that if you read the back of your ticket you'll see that they are not legally responsible for losses you suffer due to them canceling a flight for safety and/or mechanical issues.
- Look for a firm that does work with personal injury. They usually handle these types of cases. And if not, you can always go here and look for what you want specifically http://www.abanet.org/legalservices/lris/directory/
- You might be surprised to learn that the airlines are under NO obligation to either re-route you OR issue a refund for cancelled flights. The ONLY time they are required to do anything is if you are bumped due to overbooking.
- That is a lost cause. A lawyer would laugh you out of the office.
