Continental Airline Tickets

Why do you think Continental is such a good airline?

I actually ask this question while also wanting to know more about their safety record and mechanically if they are as good. But my feeling is that they are so over and above better than the other airlines in service...the seats on their planes are HORRIBLE, don't get me wrong, this I know. But what do you think Continental does that makes them the least heard about in the media, never facing bankruptcy?

1. Management. I get the sense they are well managed and traditional. They don't do a lot of marketing gimmicks. They also have some lucrative international routes.
2. Continental has been bankrupt twice. American Airlines is the only Legacy airline to have never declared bankruptcy. Several of the newer airlines have not declared bankruptcy either, but then again they aren't as old. They are the least heard of because they are the 5th-7th busiest US airline, depending on what you want to use as the standard. I believe their management has done very well since the second bankruptcy and have changed themselves to a semi-discount airline. Not quite legacy carrier, not quite Southwest, somewhere in between.
