Trouble with the continental tires dealers put on 3 series BMWS?

I have this thumping rhythm that comes from the front tires. Had it checked out a few times but no one seems to find anything wrong. Leads me to believe it's the Continental Tires. I have heard BMW has had problems with these stock tires they use and honestly I don't care for them at all. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Hearing this type of noise, like something stuck in the tire, when nothing is?

  1. never like continental tires
  2. Typically the continental tires are cheaper to put on a car and save the company money, however I've never seen a BMW with a continental tire package before. I would suggest simply changing to some high performance Michilen's or Pirelli's
  3. Starting in 2006 they were using run flats, both conti's and bridgestone's are used. I don't remember which tire, but one of them seems to have a problem, i know the noise you are talking about, and dealers have replaced them free under warranty, you have to talk to your dealer. The problem is the way the tire wears, it is inconsistent and leads to horrible road noise, this issue has been fixed, but some of the old tires are still out there.
