Continental Airline Tickets

Does any body know when Continental becomes a member of the star alliance program?

I want to buy a ticket in Delta (for march) and I want to earn the points in my one pass continental program. Thanks

1. I think Continental is a member starting January of 2009 since that is when Delta and Northwest should merge. You should call Continental just to make sure.
