what are diffreneces in The Continental Drift Theory and the theory of the one on the ocean floor?
i dont know the name but the theory of the ocean floor is that it means when they passed the ocean floor.

- I might be able to answer this, but please verify. Are you referring to the difference between Continental Drift and Sea-floor Spreading?
- Do you mean the seafloor spreading? Continental Drift Theory is a theory that all present time continents were once one supercontinent which later broke up and drifted apart. This theory failed to explain the cause of the "wandering" continent. Seafloor spreading is about the forming of new oceanic crust and explains the mechanism of the plate movements.
- the theory on the ocean floor is called the Plate Tectonics Theory. it is a revised form of the continental drift hypothesis where the evidences of the theory are questionable. the continental drift hypothesis is mainly saying that the continental crusts are always moving on earth's surface. that millions of years ago, all the continents were one big continent attached together. this was arrived at after geologists found several evidences; the geography, geology, climatology and palaeontology evidences. for plate tectonics theory, it is about the how the plates move which are converging, diverging and moving laterally past each other. at diverging plate boundaries, sea floor spreading may occur if the both plates are oceanic plates; forming mid-oceanic ridges. if the plates involved are continentals, rift valley will form. at converging plate boundaries, mountain building process will take place. kinda lengthy but hope this helps =)
