Continental Airlines eticket?
My husband is flying for the first time on Monday morning. We were told by some friends that he could go on Continental's website and print out an eticket. How do we do that? Is a boarding pass the same as an eticket? We're confused! Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!

- A boarding pass is not the same as an eTicket. For Continental, you usually don't need a printout of anything, you can just go check in at their counter at the airport. There they will check your ID, check your bags, and give you a boarding pass. You can "Check In Online" and print out your boarding pass at home, but if you have luggage, you still have to drop it off and get your ID checked, so it's not worth it. If you don't have luggage to check, go for it, it'll save you waiting in line.
- 24 hours before your flight you can check in on line and print your boarding pass. Go to the Continental web site or if you gave a email address when you bought the ticket they will send you an e mail with a link that will take you to where to check in. A boarding pass and an e ticket are not the same. Since Continental has reserved seats it does not make any differences if you check in on line or not. Southwest Airlines is the only one that boards by A, B or C groups.
- If you have already booked the tickets take a print out of the ticket to the airport, on producing any photo ID your airlines will issue a boarding pass. Boarding pass is different from eticket. Eticket is your itinerary and boarding pass allot you a seat in the plane.
- Eticket refers to the electronic information/confirmation of your flight. 24 hours before your flight, go the the airline's website and look for the online check-in section. Enter your confirmation number and they'll give you a printable boarding pass. That's what you use to get through security and onto the plane. The nice thing about online check-in is that you automatically go into the "A" section for boarding (i.e., you'll get on the plane first).
